The pussy hotel
Not a lot to say about this stop-over, in & out of the hotel then back on the road, the reference to horror in the blog title refers to a rather scarey horror movie that the hotel staff were watching in the reception area of the hotel. As you can imagine at this stage of the season they had little else to do!
After not being able to get on the ferry that morning we made the journey back around the coastline & found a lovely small appartment building yards from the beach just as the sun went down. As the blog title says “its a small world”, the poeple in the room adjoining Phil were from Hartburn which is only two miles from where he lives, contact was made once the accent was recognised!. After making our oun breakfast the following morning on Leons balcony we checked out only to find that credit cards were not accepted, to our embarrasment we didn’t have enough cash to cover the bill, 10 euro’s short, after giving us directions to the closest bank the owner kindly let us leave taking all the cash we had.
One our way down to catch the ferry from Trikeri across to the mainland closer to Athens we came across some fantastic views.
Taken from the same terrece looking out to sea towards the east, won’t be long & we will be heading that way.
On the wat to the hotel we came to a sudden halt, total caos on the road, local farmers delivering there apples to the local processing factory, there seemed to be more on the roads than in the trucks!
If e wern’t running over spilt apples we came across herds of goats having a afternoon nap in the middle of the road.
Set behind the resort of Sozopol is this castle in the process of being built by a local Bulgarian family, we walked around fasinated by the detail & had the operunity to meet the owner, this guy is straight from a film set, he is known locally as “Konan the Bulgarian”, perfect fit!, has a bit of a chequred background in security, nightclubs & just about everything else, we said hello & moved on at speed!
Steve having his first bit of exersise in three & a half weeks, thinking about taking it up full time!
