This was to be our last stay on the beach, from here we heading north inland. This small resort at Hat Chao Samran was lovely & quite just the place to relax for a few days.

  Our accommodation for two nights, can’t get much closer to the beach than that!

  Time to relax & get out of the sun.

  Steve catching up with what’s going on in the world! Not quite the office environment he is used to!

  This is the way the Thai people start the day, we decided to stick to the coffee routine & watch!

  Only a few hundred yards up the beach was this beach resteraunt with cold beer & fantastic food. 

  All the staff came to see us off the morning we left, we didn’t want to leave it was that nice, crazy when you think this place is only a couple of hours from Bangkok.

  After Steve & I this lovely old couple were probably the youngest in the resort!

  While sat on the beach we were constantly plauged by hawkers selling all sorts of things, we wern’t sure if this one was trying to sell us something or threaten us!!

  Most beaches in Thailand have jet ski rides, this place still had donkeys!

  Traffic was slow, but we had to stop to say hello! these Elephants were on there way home after spending the day at work in the logging industry.

  Steve taking a break to get over the shock of the Scorpion, he still wakes-up screaming, good job we don’t share rooms! 

  We could tell we were getting close to the East coast, crossing this road bridge we came across this small harbour crammed full of fishing boats.

  This place we found by luck. Right on the beach, small bungalows so close to the beach they should have been on stilts!

   After a nice dinner we retiered to our balcony for a night-cap!

  Phil found a pal, this little pup sat outside his door all night, Phil knew this was the case as he could here him moving around & sniffing under the door to make sure he was ok!! either that or after the wildlife that was in the room with Phil..

  The only reason we didn’t stay longer was the fact that the rooms were alive & so uncomfortable, but look at the setting beaches with nobody on them & endless, not a sight in modern Thailand 

  Anybody there??

 Our travels inland after Phuket took us to the Khao Sak National Park, on route we came across this charming bungalow resort ( Khao Sak Las Orquideas Resort ) owned & ran by a Spanish guy.

  The gardens this place was set in were amazing, he told us at breakfast the following morning that he has owned the place for seven years but spent the first five years developing the gardens before constructing the bungalows & setting up the resort. 

  The morning we left Steve had just left toilet, Phil goes in to check we hadn’t left anything to find this Scorpion on the floor beside the bowl!!. When we told the owner he was horrified & concerned about our safety.

  Our transportation for the day plenty of food & beer on board, a few people suffering from sea sickness though as the ride was a little rough, we were ok though! 

  One of the coves we looked into, fantastic setting.

  This is where the movie “Beach” was filmed, Leanardo DeCaprio had left by now so we had the place to ourselves!!

  Don’t fancy this hotel for the night Steve!

  Time to leave paradise, on our way back to Phuket.

  Arrived in Phuket  & yes it was pouring down, Steve seems to think Phil is a jinx whith the weather!

  The rain eventually stopped so we wondered along to this lovely sea food resteraunt, spoilt for choice..

  Tuk Tuk’s have left India & now are available in Thailand, much better condition though! 

  After some careful thought we decided we neded to get training in before we get to America, Steve got this poor guy dead centre with his .44 Magnum ( make my day punk )

  Who said Elvis is dead!!

  Time to leave Phuket leaving this behind..

  Well now in Thailand & our first night was spent Songkala a small town on the East coast, lovely beach & calm sea.  

  We soon got into the swing of things & had a lovely seafood meal & beers on the beach.

  We woke the next morning looked out of the window in disbelief, raining cats & dogs, the sean pounding up the beach. 

  This could be the North Sea, this small fishing boat was one of the few out at sea, the other boats were all sheltering behind one of the islands off the beach.

  Walking down this side streetwe fell upon this food market, we could’t resist it smelt lovely..

  To the suprise of the locals we decided to give it a try, after geting over the language barrier we found a helpfull lady who with some finger pointing & guidance dished us up a real treat.

 After dinner we walked along the river which was swollen after all the recent rainfall.
