Bye Bye to bucharest, Bulgaria beckens
Hi all, After much anticipation becouse of previous info from people in Hungary about Gypsy and thief’s we found Romanian people to be so friendly with no problems what so ever. We entered Romania straight into the countryside, it was a little of a culture shock. Small villages looking very run down with mostly everyone selling some kind of fruit. Looking like they had all the time in the world old people sat weathered looking and amazed to see us and our machines passing through their home villages. Children would run and wave and mimic with their hands reving the bike egging us on to respond, Men and women would wave in horse drawn carts carrying any thing from home made ladders, corn, hay, all sorts of vegetables or just simply a means of transport with their families. Some time we would see the children coming or going from school and they look so smart in dresses, shirts n ties, they look like their from a different part of the world. The roads are not in great condition and the drivers a little crazy cutting corner and having to pass or cut in even for 50ft or less, much care was needed. Along the roads you see lots of stray dogs and women of the night, you cant help but feel sorry for them both. Less than 30 klm we enter the capital, the is an unbelievable transformation mercs, bmws, **** hotels the works but never the less a beautiful city and the people just as friendly. Its been a surpringly interesting stay with fantastic mountain roads beautiful food and friendly people, it was nice to see a friendly face ie Lucy and a great trip to draculas castle. we’ve stayed in lots of hotel, some very nice, some not so nice. Next into Bulgaria with the same anticipation!! Miss you all friend family and love ones Leon, Steve and Phil xx
