After spending time in Hanoi we decided to go to Halong Bay for a overnight cruise, this is the boat we spent the night on, very nice & comfortable, the sea was calm which helped!  

  This lady travelled between each of the cruise boats selling everything you can imagine.

  One of the trips included in our cruise package was to go around these caves.

  After the cave visit we came back to our boat for dinner in this dining room, the food was good & plenty of it, washed down with a few beers..  

  One of the after dinner activities was squid fishing, Lucy was the only one to catch one, didn’t get as far as the kitchen she let it go!

  After breakfast the following morning we went to one of the islands, on this one we climbed to the top to a temple, this photo is one of the bays at Halong. 

  Time spent in Asia has affected Lucy’s dress sence! Nice socks Lucy.. 

  On the journey from Vung Tau to Ho Chi Minh we decided to go up the river on this Hydrofoil, nice journey & only 2 hours. 

  A visit to the Saigon war museum was very interesting, here is some of the war equipment left by the Americans

  After shopping & dinner we set off back to the hotel on these street bycicle taxi’s. 

  Phil decided to give this poor old guy a rest & have a go himself..

  Lucy & Steve decided to try there luck at Crocodile fishing, here is Lucy teasing the Croc with a little fishy!

  This bunch have decided that Lucy looks like a better meal than them little fish!!

  All fed & full-up..time to sleep dinner off or until the next tourist witha fish comes along.

  Phil having a go at the more traditional fishing but not for croc’s, just like Huck Finn with a piece of bamboo & a worm, yes the fish had the last laugh!!                                                                                                                                                                                              Time to play in the mud! Phil was convinced the mud was Crocodile poo!

  Well maybe its not true what they say about mud being good for your complection, this hasn’t done Steve any favour’s!! or has it?

  New years day & while the folks at home were dancing in the snow seeing in the new year, we had a 06:30 coach journey from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam.

  Half way through the coach journey we had to cross the Mekong River by ferry.And the coach got stuck in the mud getting on the ferry we thought we were going be told to push

  After arriving in Ho Chi Minh we set off by taxi to the south coast in search of sun bleached beaches, we found a hotel run by a young guy called Son who’s neighbour & close friend was a Russial lawyer called Andy, freindly guy who shared his black label whisky with us. 

  Son & his girlfriend who get married on 10/10/10 ‘ten ten ten’ as Son would say, yes we all got an invitation to the wedding.
